PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES / LEARNING OUTCOMES 

Knowledge and understanding:

• thorough knowledge of economic categories, laws, causal relationships existing between economic processes & phenomena;
• understanding of the theoretical framework related to the functioning of economic systems of different levels, micro-, macro-, regional, national and international economies;
• basic understanding of the spatial distribution of productive forces and parameters of the national economy integration into the system of global economic relations;
• knowledge of methods and modern tools for performing economic, mathematical, econometric and statistical analysis in the field of finance & credit; conceptual knowledge of the basics of management, marketing, insurance, accounting, audit, taxation system; philosophy, logic, history of Ukrainian and world culture, psychology and pedagogy, sociology, political science, political economy, law basics and business regulations, all contributing to the development of general culture and socialization of personality; understanding of the nature and trends of national and global monetary systems development;knowledge of the mechanisms of financial markets formation and functioning, insurance, leasing, other financial services arrangement;
• understanding of the methods of managing a company’s financial assets, cash flows, investment activities;knowledge of peculiarities of banking & credit institutions functioning;
• knowledge of the characteristics of public and local finance formation and specific features of revenue and expenditure parts of the budgets of different levels;
• knowledge of the contemporary state taxation system, peculiarities of its functioning across industries and sectors of the national economy, understanding the ways of its improvement; knowledge of modern analytical tools, methods of quantitative assessment and modelling of market-based financial, credit,insurance, investment risks for effective decision making;understanding the mechanisms of financial planning/forecasting under global competition and uncertainty;
• knowledge of at least 1 foreign language.

Application of knowledge and understanding:

• ability to apply professional knowledge, career-related skills and computer software products in enterprise financial management practice;
• skills in the area of financial accounting, financial processes analysis, enterprise performance appraisal, financial control and developing the strategy for their improvement;
• skills in efficient decision making translated to operating, investing and financing activities, the ability to pursue a sound financial policy of maximizing profits and increasing a company market value;
• the ability to conclude operations at the stock market and manage investment portfolio;
• the ability to develop successful business communication: public speaking, negotiations, meetings, business correspondence, electronic communication;
• project-related presentation skills (written, oral and visualized), in English specifically;
• the ability to work with information in global computer networks and corporate information systems, applied software and information technologies in the area of economics, finance and credit.

Making judgments:

• the ability to perceive general civilization achievements of world culture, science and technology, formation of a personal civil position as to market and democratic mechanisms of society development, understanding its causal relationships, and the ability to use them in professional and public activities;
• understanding of the need for honesty and transparency in all aspects of professional activity in the fields of finance and credit, public administration and corporate management, economics, business etc. to ensure the country’s sustainable economic development;
• taking responsibility for own personal and professional development, as well as of subordinates and/or groups of persons;
